The purpose of the French Bulldog Fanciers of Canada Ambassador For Health Program is to promote the betterment of the French Bulldog breed in Canada. Through health testing, the FBFC recognizes those French Bulldogs, owned by FBFC members, which have met specific health testing requirements.
The new program has 5 levels of recognition – Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum & Diamond.
Passing results are required on all eligible certifications except DNA based health screenings (passing results eligible for certification are defined by OFA). Any result will be accepted for DNA based health screenings. All results must be submitted to OFA and be verifiable in their public database.
The tests recognized for health awards are:
OFA Hips / PennHips
OFA Patella
OFA heart
OFA trachea
OFA thyroid
OFA eye CERF
DNA testing
Cystinuria Type 3 (through PennGen only clear or carrier are awarded)
Juvenile Cataracts (only clear or carrier are awarded)
